Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

IPL 2023, PBKS vs RR: lost due to rhythm disturbance in the middle overs

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson said that a loss of rhythm in the middle overs cost his team a narrow five-run defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League. Chasing the target of 198 runs, the Rajasthan Royals team finally managed to score 192 runs for seven wickets.

Samson said in the press conference after the match, “We started really well. We played well in the power play. We were expecting a few boundaries in the middle overs but he bowled really well. I think our rhythm got a bit messed up here.

He said, “Despite the increase in the run rate, we did well in the end and made the match close. We only needed one six to win.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings batting coach Wasim Jaffer was all praise for young batsman Prabhsimran Singh, who opened the innings with skipper Shikhar Dhawan and smashed a blistering 60 off 34 balls.

Jaffer said, “He (Prabhsimran) is a great player but no matter how good a player you are, you have to be consistent in your performance so that he can play more carefree.”

He said, “He is a good player and it is good to see that he is doing well. It is a good sign for us as we do not have Jonny Bairstow. We need this kind of batsman at the top of the order and so I am really happy with his performance.
