Qatar hosts the “Web Summit” conference. The first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa

Today, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced that the State of Qatar will host, during the month of March 2024, a conference "Web Summit"It is the largest event in the world of technology.

It is considered a conference "Web Summit Qatar"The event, which will be held in Doha, is the first of its kind in the region, and is expected to bring together thousands of entrepreneurs and investors, as well as a group of new generation leaders who will change the face of the world in the future.

Over the next five years, the conference will provide new opportunities for collaboration in the world of technology, connecting the growing technology ecosystems across the Middle East, Africa and India, as well as those in Europe, North and South America and Asia.

Hosting this event coincides with the rapid growth of the technology sector in the State of Qatar, with the expansion of startups and the private sector, and in light of government support for technological innovation.

According to the Global Competitiveness Report 2021 issued by the World Economic Forum, the State of Qatar ranks 28th globally in terms of innovation capacity, outperforming other countries in the region.

The country is also investing in intensifying its investments in technological infrastructure, with a focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and cybersecurity.

In this context, HE the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali al-Mannai said that the State of Qatar is looking forward to hosting thousands of leaders, thinkers and innovators who are making the future at the conference. "Web Summit Qatar"He added that the participants will discover ways to develop their business, while enjoying the experience of the vibrant Qatari culture. The conference will also take advantage of the advantages offered by the advanced facilities and infrastructure in the State of Qatar to facilitate travel and achieve solid economic growth.

For his part, Mr. Paddy Cosgrave, Founder and CEO of Conference "Web Summit"He said that the summit will help connect a new generation of business founders in the Middle East with investors, journalists, customers, partners and other stakeholders in this field from around the world, pointing out that hosting the conference in the State of Qatar provides a new opportunity for the Web Summit to bring together technology pioneers on the one hand, and develop On the other hand, the technological scene with an accelerating impact in the region.
