Qatar University and the American Boeing Company are collaborating to promote innovation in the field of robotics

Qatar University, represented by the College of Engineering, and the American company, Boeing, launched a new competition aimed at promoting innovation in the field of robotics among university students.

And the university stated, in a statement, that this competition will represent a major event according to the academic calendar of the College of Engineering, with the aim of focusing on inspiring the next generation of engineers.

Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji, Dean of the College of Engineering at Qatar University, considered this competition as a platform for students that enables them to interact with experts in the technology sector, which contributes to enhancing their creativity and innovation in this field, adding "We are launching this distinguished competition with the Boeing Company, and it is specialized in the robotics sector, which is a rapidly developing sector and has the ability to revolutionize technology in many sectors and improve people’s daily lives in several ways.".

For his part, Colgate Gata Ora, President of Boeing in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region, explained that cooperation with the future generation of prominent talents in the College of Engineering at Qatar University opens the way to achieving technical progress that will shape the future of the aviation sector in the region.

It is scheduled that the competing projects will be presented within the framework of the competition, on the fourth of next May, where the teams will present their visual tracking robots to a jury that includes experts from Boeing, provided that the winners will be crowned during the Creativity and Innovation Forum at Qatar University on the 23rd. from the same month.

The university and Boeing invited students from the College of Engineering to participate in the design and development of visual tracking robots that can perform various tasks, including locating and tracking objects, navigating complex environments, and interacting with humans.

It is noteworthy that the partnership between the American company Boeing and Qatar University dates back to 2016, reflecting a joint commitment to nurturing talent and encouraging innovation in the booming technology sector in Qatar.
