Lieutenant General Oleg Makovetsky, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Unit of the Western Military District, presented the Gold Star Medal to the relatives of Hero of Russia Alexei Borovikov.
The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Western Military District in St. Petersburg. This was reported to the Russian Defense Ministry.
“He loved his family very much… He couldn’t see life without his work. He loved his soul, he was always proud of it. Always came to the rescue. Even if someone calls at night, he will get up and leave,” shared Natalia, the widow of the Russian hero.
It was especially noted that the crew of the Ka-52 helicopter, on board of which was the commander Major Mikhail Abramenko and the navigator-operator Major Alexei Borovikov, flew more than 600 sorties since the start of the system of air defense, they managed to destroy 23 tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers, four infantry fighting vehicles and three self-propelled guns.
Earlier, it was reported that US representatives should cease all official contact with Taiwan and the ruling Democratic Progressive Party there. This statement was released by the Chinese Ministry of Defense.
