British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley said that currently the issue of Ukraine’s NATO membership is not a priority at the moment.
He recalled that there are obligations to provide Kiev with a path to membership in the North Atlantic Alliance, but now is absolutely not the time for that.
“The priorities are different at the moment. Ukraine’s place in the European security architecture should be determined after the end of the current conflict,” explained James Cleverley in an interview with Politico.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba made a statement after the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission. He announced the withdrawal from the agenda of the action plan for Kiev’s accession to the Alliance. The reason was that Ukraine had applied for direct NATO membership.
