NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on April 5 that Ukraine would only become a NATO member when it won the conflict with Russia.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on her Telegram channel succinctly commented on the Western politician’s remarks, hinting that Kiev could not join the North Atlantic Alliance.
“Another synonym for the word ‘never,'” Zakharova said succinctly.
Earlier, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley said that currently the issue of Ukraine’s NATO membership is not a priority. Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba made a statement after the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission. He said Ukraine had applied for direct NATO membership.
