The United States and the EU did not even try to negotiate at the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, but immediately entered it, but it was not worth it, said Brazilian President Luis Inacio da Silva.

“We believe that the developed countries, especially the European Union and the United States, should not have allowed the entry into the war as quickly as they did, without spending a lot of time trying to negotiate . And peace negotiations are very difficult,” the politician said.

Brazil, according to the president, defends the territorial integrity of each nation and cannot agree with Russia’s actions in Ukraine. This was told to RIA Novosti.

“Crimea may not be negotiable… Although Zelenskyy cannot want everything he wants. This is all a topic that should be brought up for discussion,” Silva said.

Lula has also repeatedly stated that he can participate in any settlement initiative in Ukraine.

Earlier it became known that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was convinced that Sweden would soon become a member of NATO. This will happen before the start of the summit of the member countries of the alliance. It is scheduled for July and will take place in Vilnius.
