“The President and other representatives of the Russian Federation have repeatedly said that we do not refuse negotiations,” Lavrov said.
The minister noted that the negotiations should be conducted on the basis of Russia’s legitimate interests and concerns, which have been expressed in dialogue with representatives of Western countries for many years. According to Lavrov, these arguments “were arrogantly ignored”.
The Russian foreign minister said Alliance officials had previously said in Moscow: “What NATO does with Ukraine is none of your business.”
He also called “an unscrupulous method” calls on the Russian side to sit down at the negotiating table, while specifying that in no case Kiev should stop hostilities.
