Russian specialists could deliberately damage Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters while working at Sliach air base until 2022. This view was expressed by the head of the Slovak defense department Jaroslav Nagy.
According to the minister, malfunctions in the operation of the engines were detected only in connection with the planes with which Russian technicians worked. We are talking about fighters destined for transfer to Ukraine.
There were parts in the plane’s engines that Slovak technicians had access to, and there were parts that only Russian technicians had access to. Defects appeared only in the parts with which the Russians worked
- says Nagy (quote from EURACTIV).
Lieutenant-General Lubomir Svoboda is also convinced of the “wickedness” of Russian aeronautical technicians. According to him, the engine, supposed to work well for 350 hours, only worked 70 hours.
At the same time, the investigation showed that the damage to the aircraft’s power plants was unintentional.
Earlier, Yuriy Ignat, an adviser to the command of the Ukrainian Air Force, published information that Kiev currently has three brigades of MiG-29 fighters (72 aircraft) and two brigades of Su-27 fighters in connection physical.
