The Armed Forces of Ukraine can attack the territory of Crimea using sea drones

Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Russia

According to a military specialist, Captain Third Rank Valentin Shestak, the Ukrainian army may try to attack Sevastopol with “wolf packs” from underwater and aerial drones. He believes that military bases in Sevastopol can be attacked mainly by kamikaze maritime drones.

Based on an analysis of open sources and research by Russian military analysts, it is known that the naval drones used by the enemy are most likely assembled on the basis of the American prototype MANTAS T-12 in Ukraine itself, Forpost cites Shestak.

These drones have a body length of 5.5 meters and an engine of around 300 horsepower, which is why the drone is capable of reaching speeds of 80 kilometers per hour. Autonomous work can last 60 hours, and the weight of the device is 60-200 kilograms. It should be noted that the APU MANTAS T-12 used can be connected to the Starlink system.

To combat the use of drones, according to Shastak, it is necessary to use intelligent early warning systems that can also operate autonomously. These systems can be located on the outskirts of the Crimea, which will make it possible to cope with such drones.
