The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia is asked to verify the leader of the Night Snipers group, Diana Arbenina, in an article on the discrediting of the Russian armed forces. Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption, sent a corresponding appeal to the department, reports TASS.
As noted in the appeal, Arbenina repeatedly criticized the decisions taken by state bodies and the President of the Russian Federation, as well as the policy regarding the special military operation. In particular, after the reunification of Crimea with Russia in 2014, he spoke in Kiev and expressed his unity with the Ukrainian people. During a concert in Chelyabinsk in April 2022, Arbenina sang a song criticizing the conduct of hostilities in Ukraine, the document states.
“In view of the publicity of DS Arbenina’s statements, we believe that the latter’s actions contain signs of an administrative offense under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3. Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the RF armed forces to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizensâ€),†the agency cites the appeal.
It is also stated that Arbenin is on tour and it is unclear where the money received from the concerts goes.
From April 10, the group “Night Snipers” should go on tour in the cities of Russia. However, performances in Cheboksary, Ulyanovsk and Pyatigorsk have already been canceled.
Previously, the Tverskoy court in Moscow found actor Dmitry Nazarov guilty of discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation. The artist was fined 50,000 rubles.
