The share of Chinese cars in the Russian market has increased several times

According to Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui, the share of Chinese cars in the Russian market more than doubled to 19.2 percent last year from 7 percent in previous years. Thus, in 2022, China exported more than 160,000 cars to Russia, an increase of 33.4%.

In an interview with Izvestia newspaper, Zhang Hanhui said that last year the trade turnover between Russia and China hit a record high of $190.27 billion. In addition, China’s home and consumer electronics exports to Russia amounted to $4.09 billion. Smartphones, TVs, washing machines, refrigerators and other Chinese brands continue to win the hearts of Russian consumers due to their quality and affordability, the diplomat said.
