Which banks in Germany pay bonuses for opening a free account

For years, commissions at a number of banks have been negligible. Always. With banks losing revenue due to low interest rates, many financial institutions began raising fees. And that can be costly for current account holders. The consumer portal Biallo calculates that a customer who makes five transfers per month via self-service machines and withdraws money with a Girocard pays on average nearly 80 euros per year.

But there is a way out. Although the range of free checking accounts is shrinking, they still exist. And above all, to attract customers, some establishments even pay a bonus when opening a new account or grant start-up credit. FOCUS online presents an overview of the most attractive bonuses for new customers when opening a free current account.

Open an account with Commerzbank online
