A driver can get a year’s imprisonment for a bribe of 500 rubles

And that’s instead of a thousand fine.

Such an ambiguous choice was made by a 35-year-old driver who was stopped at the 206th kilometer of the Kholmogory federal road for not wearing a seat belt. The man really did not want to be brought to administrative responsibility and he tried to give a bribe, which the police immediately reported to the service unit, officially registering the fact of an attempted bribe -of-wine.

The driver, as he wished, avoided administrative responsibility. But criminal – no. And now he faces a very real punishment. In this situation, the only thing that can please him is that the bribe was less than ten thousand rubles, so the maximum penalty is not more than a year in not so distant places.
