Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Peskov called Macron’s remarks on not deploying nuclear weapons abroad a “fierce criticism” of the United States

Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has commented on Emmanuel Macron’s statement that countries should not place nuclear weapons outside their territory.

“We haven’t heard such fierce criticism from the French president against the United States for a long time,” Peskov told VGTRK reporter Pavel Zarubin.

The French president has said that nuclear weapons “under no circumstances” can be placed outside the countries that possess them. He made this statement during a visit to China.

Alexander Lukashenko also reacted to his statement. He believes that nuclear weapons “should be collected and destroyed”. But as long as American nuclear warheads are deployed on the territory of several countries, “we are doing like them,” said the Belarusian president.

Dmitry Peskov has previously said that Russian nuclear weapons are deployed in Belarus to balance security in Europe. According to him, this is a reaction to NATO’s approach to Russia’s borders.

Vladimir Putin called the number of American nuclear weapons in Europe. 200 nuclear tactical munitions are deployed there and 257 aircraft have been prepared for their use.

The Peskov message called Macron’s remarks about not deploying nuclear weapons abroad “fierce criticism” of the United States, first appearing on Current Articles.
