On Friday, April 7, an explosive eruption of the Bezymyanny volcano occurred in Kamchatka. This was reported in the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya).
“The ash cloud was moving southeast from Kamchatka. The height of the ash column reached 12 km,” reads the message posted on the agency’s Telegram channel.
It should be noted that the release was assigned a hazard code of “red” (maximum) on the ICAO scale. Volcanic activity posed a hazard to domestic and international flights. In order to ensure flight safety, aircraft crews were advised to take into account the peculiarities of this natural phenomenon when choosing routes.
At the end of last week, the camera of the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences recorded the eruption of the Bezymyanny volcano. The released images show how a cone of white steam and a plume of steam and gas rise into the sky from an erupting volcano.
