The leader of the musical group “Leningrad” Sergei Shnurov can be nominated for the election of the governor of the Pskov region. Information from the publication “Pskov Newswire” was confirmed by a source from the “Party of Growth”, which is considering the candidacy of the artist.

The federal leadership of the political association does not exclude the possibility of appointing the head of the regional department, Igor Romanov. The final decision on the party’s candidate is to be made in the near future.

In the winter of 2020, Shnurov became a member of the Growth Party, and in the summer of the same year he took over as co-chairman of the association. Since the beginning of the military special operation, the musician has been actively criticizing artists who left Russia due to Western sanctions.
