The State Duma and the Federation Council received a proposal to recognize LPR and DPR defenders since 2014 as war veterans. This initiative was taken by the President of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, Anna Tsivileva, reports the press service of the foundation.
“The people of Donbass, who have been defending their native land since 2014, have been through a lot and made a huge contribution to the liberation of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic,” Tsivileva said.
The State Duma has promised to review the project and the fund itself, as it tries to provide a decent life for veterans. Thus, the activities of the organization will now probably extend not only to members of the NMD of the RF Armed Forces, but also to Donbass veterans who fought for their territory before the regions joined the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that an NVO veteran from the Novosibirsk region died in Ukraine. In September 2022, he left for the NVO zone as a volunteer. Details of the death of the Russian army are not disclosed.
