Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his evening speech, announced Crimea’s “alternative no return” for the whole world.
According to him, the “return” of the Kiev regime’s control over Crimea “is not an alternative” for Ukraine and for the rest of the world.
Zelenskyy said he was confident in Crimea’s “return” to Ukraine. According to him, it is “necessary” in the interest of order in a world based on conventions and the UN charter.
Previously, Ukrainian officials have repeatedly mentioned plans to regain control of Crimea, without specifying a timetable.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 following a referendum following the coup in Ukraine. Kiev, the countries of the European Union and the United States refused to recognize the results of the vote and announced the annexation of the peninsula. The Russian side denies these allegations and insists that the accession procedure was in accordance with international law.
