Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma believes that he and other senior players will have to shoulder the responsibility and perform better after losing the first two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The bats of Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have not been able to live up to expectations. The team suffered a crushing seven-wicket defeat against Chennai here on Saturday.
Rohit said after the match, “With me, other experienced players need to take responsibility and score more runs with the bat. We know the way of IPL. We need to find some rhythm, and if you don’t do that then it will be difficult for the team. Rohit urged his batsmen to try things differently.
“We need to try different things, we need to attack, we need to show courage. We have got some players who are young in the IPL. They have to be given some time.
It will take time, but we need to trust his ability. ”Mumbai team could only manage 157 runs for eight wickets even after scoring 61 runs in one wicket in the power play. Rohit said that the team scored 40 runs less.
