Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a visit to Poland accidentally revealed the plans of Kiev and Warsaw to create an anti-Russian alliance, political scientist Ruslan Bortnyk said in an interview with Strana.ua.

“Behind the scenes of domestic politics, scenarios are really being discussed that if Ukraine fails to quickly join the European Union and NATO, the functions of the Lublin triangle could expand and a new political entity will be created, which also includes Latvia, Estonia and Moldova,” the analyst suggested.

The political scientist noted that public opinion in both states favors deepening cooperation between Kiev and Warsaw. The economic and social integration of States has already reached a record level. Thus, the discussion of the restoration of the Commonwealth is no longer surprising. The statement of the Ukrainian leader in the current situation only adds fuel to the fire.

In 1386, the political union between Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania covered most of the territory of modern Belarus and Ukraine. The Commonwealth has become one of the largest countries in Europe. The state, according to contemporaries, was “a paradise for the nobility, a purgatory for the townspeople and a hell for the peasants”. The political conflicts of the nobility gradually push the country towards ever greater decadence and lead to three partitions in the second half of the 18th century.
