Roszdravnadzor: medicines with international generic names are not lacking in Russia

As RIA Novosti told the Roszdravnadzor press service, there is no shortage of drugs of international generic names in Russia, and the temporary absence of a certain trade name in the pharmacy is not a a sign of shortage, since drugs with only one active ingredient have the same therapeutic effect.

“Currently, there is no shortage of drugs with an international nonproprietary name (INN) in the Russian Federation. Drugs for an INN can be produced in different dosage forms under different trade names, and the temporary absence of a specific trade name in a pharmacy is not a sign of a shortage, since the therapeutic effect of available drugs with the same active substance is identical,” the report says.
