Civil servants and servicemen of Nizhny Novgorod receive more than other state employees

In 2022, the average salary in the Nizhny Novgorod region amounted to 46,555 rubles, which is 12.5% more than in the previous year. However, the real income of the population fell by 1.2%.

Teacher salaries increased by 15% to 39,814, which is even slightly higher than the region’s average growth, but still significantly lower than the region’s average absolute values. Since 2023, the salaries of school staff have been indexed by a third, and the average income at the end of the year is expected to exceed 44,000 rubles, which, again, remains below the regional average.

Doctors and social workers in 2022 received an average of 43,165 rubles. More than in 2021 as well, but less than the regional average. An increase in doctors’ salaries of an unknown amount is expected.

According to the results of 2022, civil servants and military personnel in Nizhny Novgorod have the highest salaries (among state employees) – 50,051 rubles. Here, revenue growth has been the weakest, but even so, it exceeds the average level.
