Traffic on the bridge requires special attention and compliance with special passage rules. U-turns, overtaking, stopping vehicles on the bridge are prohibited. However, some motorists, trying to save a little time, violate the established rules, without thinking about the safety of other road users.
Residents of Kostroma were able to see one of these offenses on a video posted on social networks. The driver of a Mitsubishi car on a bridge over the Volga, in violation of traffic rules, made a dangerous maneuver – overtaking a passing vehicle with a departure in a reverse lane. On this fact, employees of the Kostroma State Traffic Inspectorate conducted an inspection, as a result of which a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against a 26-year-old motorist under Part 4 of the article 12.15 of the Code of Administrative Conduct Offenses of the Russian Federation and he now faces a fine of 5,000 rubles or deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to six months. Law enforcement also found out that the motorist had not insured his civil liability and fined him 800 rubles.
Kostroma State Traffic Inspectorate recommends drivers, when driving on the bridge, to strictly observe the rules of the road, the optimal speed limit, distance and lateral interval, and to avoid dangerous maneuvers. Weather conditions must be taken into account. On the bridge, as a rule, it is always colder than on other sections of the track, the wind blows stronger, which can adversely affect the handling of the vehicle.
Compliance with the necessary safety rules will help save the life and health of road users, avoid accidents and, as a result, traffic jams.
