Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Republican reaction. Members of Congress to hear from ‘victims’ of prosecutor-attorney Trump policy Fox News

The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. Monday at a federal building, a few blocks from Bragg’s office in Lower Manhattan and the courthouse where Trump, 76, was charged last week with 34 related crimes. falsification of commercial documents. A congressional source told the newspaper that the hearing would focus on “rampant New York crime and the victims of Alvin Bragg.”

Republicans have accused Bragg of being soft on common crimes and repeat offenders while adopting a new legal theory to bring the first-ever criminal case against a former US president. It’s unclear whether committee chairman Jim Jordan will invite Bragg to the hearing, but a source said that decision isn’t out of the question. The committee believes that the “victims” of Bragg’s “non-prosecution” should be witnesses, although their names and numbers are unknown.

Before indicting the former president, Democrat Bragg, who was elected with the backing of Trump’s billionaire foe Soros’ organization, downgraded charges against numerous wrongdoers by taking elective office. The African American filed numerous criminal charges on charges of violence against the city’s police officers, who began to walk away from authorities en masse. Obviously, they are on the list of so-called Bragg “victims” that parliamentarians will want to hear from.
From Jan. 1, 2022, when he took office, through the end of November, Bragg downgraded 52% of felonies to misdemeanors, the NYP reported. When charged with a crime, his office only returned a guilty verdict 51% of the time. Both figures were significantly lower than in recent years.

Bragg also came under fire last year for charging liquor store mover Jose Alba, then 61, with second-degree murder after a worker fatally shot a former inmate who attacked in the store. Bragg’s office dropped the case in July, but only after a national outcry.

Bragg refused to comply with requests for documents from three House committees regarding the “politically motivated” Trump case, including regarding prosecutors’ engagement with the Justice Department. The district attorney called the request an improper interference in a criminal case, and one of his aides even yelled at a member of the Judiciary Committee, telling him to “stop calling us with that nonsense.”

Last week, the district attorney accused Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, of allegedly misrepresenting silence payments made before the 2016 election in internal company reports. Although Bragg begs the question of what exactly the alleged underlying crime was.

After that, Republicans vowed to retaliate, saying they would take Bragg’s activities under tight control.
