The Indian Cricket Board is going to renovate at least five big stadiums in the country ahead of the ODI World Cup to be held in India in October-November.

According to sources, apart from Delhi, stadiums in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mohali, and Mumbai will also be improved. Work has already started at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Crores of rupees will be spent on this work of renovation in all five grounds.

Rs 100 crore for this project in Delhi Stadium, Rs 117 for Hyderabad. 17 crores, 127.47 crores on Eden Gardens, 79.46 crores on Mohali, and 78.82 crores on Wankhede Stadium.

Twelve venues have been selected for the World Cup, which include Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai. During the World Cup, 48 matches will be played in 46 days.

The last ODI World Cup was held in India in 2011 when the team won the title under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
