Cardi B appeals to parents after video of Dalai Lama’s inappropriate behavior goes viral

Rapper Cardi B encourages parents to teach their children about boundaries and acceptance.

Cardi B, 30, stressed the importance of teaching kids to beware of bullying in a post on Twitter. She did so after a video of the Dalai Lama asking a young boy to suck his tongue went viral online. The matter attracted a lot of attention and the spiritual leader issued his apologies.

“The world is full of abuse,” Cardi B wrote. Twitter yesterday. “They go after the innocent, (…) they go after our children. These can be our neighbours, the teachers of our children, even rich or powerful people or people in our church. Talk to your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t let people do to them.”

Cardi has two children, Kulture, 4, and Wave, 19 months, with rapper Offset.

The video

The Dalai Lama, whose real name is Tenzin Gyatso, is the spiritual leader of Tibet. The incident in question is believed to have happened in late February 2023 while he was hosting students at a school in Dharamshala, India.

A video of the visit attracted a lot of attention. We see the Dalai Lama kissing the boy on the mouth and then asking him to suck his tongue while those present laugh.

The video went viral on the internet and his behavior was heavily criticized. The Dalai Lama has apologized but maintains he was innocent of her.
