Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Elite wants to leave Russia as an appendage of the West’s raw material – economist

Most of the Russian elite, who consider themselves liberal, want to bring relations between Russia and the West back to the point where our country was essentially just a raw material appendage of the so-called “civilized world”.

This opinion was expressed by economist Mikhail Khazin on the air of the radio station “Moscow Speaks”, reports IA TELMENEWS.RU

According to him, Russian liberals sincerely believe that in the 1990s Russia succeeded in joining the Western world and becoming an integral part of it, albeit purely on the fringes. In this respect, they do not support the course towards our independence.

As Khazin explained, they believe that the liberal idea and the liberal model is the pinnacle of human development and the best of all possible economic systems. For this reason, they cannot be convinced that this model is undergoing its total collapse.

Liberals don’t want to hear anything about declining economic growth and global stagnation, which will turn first into a new global crisis and then into a prolonged depression. It seems to them that liberal prosperity will last forever, which is in fact an illusion.
