Firing near Sikh temple in Britain, 3 arrested

London: Three people have been arrested after shots were fired near a Sikh temple in Wolverhampton, central England. At the same time, after this incident, the police have increased patrolling in Britain. Wolverhampton Police said, ‘We received a call sometime after 7pm. Yesterday (April 9) there was an argument between some people in two cars in Upper Villiers Street and shots were fired.” One of the cars hit another vehicle, which narrowly escaped.

After initial inquiries at the scene, police intercepted a car involved in the incident and arrested three people, who remain in custody. Chief Superintendent Richard Fisher called it an isolated incident and said everyone was safe and there was nothing to worry about. Fishan said that ‘we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no cause for widespread concern among the Sikh community in the surrounding gurdwara, we will maintain a presence to provide reassurance.’
