Killnet hackers were able to access classified data from NATO countries. The secret information received could be of interest to Russia, the leader of the group under the nickname Killmilk told Lenta.ru journalists.
According to him, a large-scale DDoS attack has paralyzed about 60% of NATO’s electronic infrastructure and the damage to the alliance continues to increase.
“We have already had access to classified data that could be of interest to Russia. This attack has become the most important for us lately. We can say with certainty that this will lead to irreversible consequences and create additional difficulties for NATO countries,” said Killmilk.
The head of Killnet admitted that the task of the association is the maximum defeat of NATO systems, infrastructures and networks. As a result, various NATO agencies and departments, whose work is an essential condition for the functioning of the entire alliance, have become targets of hacker attacks.
“Strictly speaking, the entire electronic infrastructure of NATO was under attack. From business and e-commerce divisions and resources to corporate headquarters and training systems,” Killmilk concluded.
In February, the association admitted its involvement in violations of the information system of the German airline Lufthansa. Prior to this, hackers managed to break into the website of the US military base at Ramstein in Germany.
