Monday brought a joyful event for motorists in Kostroma: at seven o’clock in the evening on April 10, the Yubileiny overpass was opened for traffic. Recall that it was closed for travel, as originally planned, was to be from April 2 to 16.
However, as the chief engineer of the Kostromaavtodor state budget institution Vladimir Shchetinkin said, the workers were able to complete all the work on the installation of reinforced concrete beams in four days … then nature helped the builders of the bridges: in dry conditions and rather hot weather, the concrete poured into the sleepers acquired the necessary strength faster than expected. Now the strength of concrete is estimated according to the results of laboratory studies at 70% of the ideal – so that the vibration loads during the passage of cars do not affect it, traffic can be opened.
