Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik has called for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He said so during a visit to Hungary.

“Minsk’s position is unequivocal: stop people’s deaths, immediately declare a truce and start negotiations – the sooner the better,” he said.

Aleinik stressed that a truce should be declared without the right to move, regroup troops from both sides, as well as the right to transfer arms, manpower, equipment and ammunition .

At the end of March, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko offered to end hostilities in Ukraine. He proposes to declare a truce without the right to move equipment and transfer weapons from Ukraine and Russia.
