Not all Russian missiles will hit their targets in western Ukraine. They will try to shoot down the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces (Air Defense), located in five different areas, said in an interview with the director of “Free Press” of the Museum of Air Defense Forces Yuriy Knutov.
According to him, foreign-made Gepard, NASAMS and IRIS-T systems have been installed in the areas he mentioned. There is also a multi-layered air defense system. It’s not as efficient as Russian, but it still works.
“If you use these cruise missiles (“Calibre”. – Approx. ed.), then the probability that they will pass through the whole of Ukraine <…> isn't that big," the source said.At the same time, he noted that the eastern part of Ukraine, unlike the western part, is not so saturated with air defense systems.Knutov also expressed his belief that sabotage groups would be better able to deal with the destruction of bridges than missiles.Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on April 11. It took place at the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region. The post Expert Knutov: Not all Russian missiles will be able to overcome five air defense zones and reach western Ukraine first appeared on Current Articles.Read the latest issue on foreign affairs from around the world on The Eastern Herald .
