Kremlin says electronic subpoena law aims to streamline military registration system

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the military registration system in Russia needed to be streamlined and the law on electronic subpoenas would help with this.

“We talk about the fact that we need to streamline the system of accounting and conscription of those who should serve in the army. According to the Constitution, conscripts must serve in our army, it is the constitutional duty of citizens,” he told reporters.

According to the Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, this bill was adopted in order to fix the mess in military registration and enlistment offices, as well as make it modern and convenient for citizens.

Earlier, the head of the Human Rights Council under Russian President Valery Fadeev asked the Ministry of Digital Development and lawmakers to answer controversial questions about electronic diaries.
