Politico: NATO does not know what to do with Hungary, which blocks Sweden’s entry into the alliance
The countries of the North Atlantic Alliance do not know what to do with Hungary, which does not want to ratify Sweden’s accession document to NATO. This is reported by the publication Politico. As noted by European officials, such actions by Budapest are connected with the desire to be friends with Russia and Turkey.
“There is a ‘null understanding’ of Budapest’s position on Sweden’s NATO membership,” the agency said quoting one of the EU officials.
According to him, Hungary’s position is part of a broader foreign policy strategy. The official added that Budapest’s stance on Sweden’s NATO membership is causing bewilderment and irritation among Western officials.
