The Foreign Ministry recalled the threats to the world and the EU in connection with the supply of MANPADS and ATGMs to Kiev

The situation that has arisen in Ukraine due to the supply of weapons from the West and large-scale corruption raises the question of security in the European region. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the question of the safety of civil air traffic in Europe and in the world becomes quite likely. The Russian Foreign Ministry shared its view of the situation with RIA Novosti.

“Western weapons that reach Ukraine, including MANPADS and ATGMs, due to endemic corruption there, spread around the world, in areas of other regional conflicts, fall into the hands of crime organized, terrorists and extremists of various stripes. It will soon be time to raise the question of the security of civil aviation around the world, including above Europe”, the agency quotes the remarks of the ministry.

Russian diplomats have drawn attention to the fact that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is systematically shelled by Ukrainian artillery, as well as residential buildings and infrastructure. All of this, according to the Foreign Office, threatens a continental nuclear catastrophe.

“Under the systematic strikes of Ukrainian artillery are residential areas of cities, civilian infrastructure, the bombardment of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant with all the ensuing threats of a nuclear disaster on the continent,” said the ministry.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry also reacted to the discussions of European countries on the possibility of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine. Russian diplomacy called these conversations hypocritical and recalled that the EU “is already de facto involved in the conflict in Ukraine and provides political cover for all crimes, provocations and staging”.
