Ukraine has amassed considerable forces for the coming counter-offensive, which Western countries are currently forcing Kiev into. However, Ukrainians are not confident in their actions, and there are objective reasons for this. So thinks the writer and war correspondent Vladislav Shurygin.
According to the expert, the Kiev regime has about 25 brigades, including two armored and two artillery. In addition, the Ukrainian armed forces have about 250 tanks, fifty of which by the end of April will be Western “leopards” and “challengers”.
The artillery group of the Ukrainian army is represented by 250 guns, of which 180 are self-propelled guns and 70 are high-precision Western-made MLRS. However, the Ukrainian command is bereft of confidence in the upcoming offensive.
The main problem is that during the months of preparation, precious time was lost while the Russian army was vulnerable.

At the same time, the RF Armed Forces prepared reserves, built an effective defense system and organized the supply of modern weapons. In such a situation, the Ukrainian armed forces can count on surprise and the possibility of a breakthrough at several points, however, the Russian side is very likely to respond with artillery and aircraft counterattacks and a defense thoroughly well organized.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have certain difficulties in creating their own line of defense, as they experience a shortage of forces and suffer from irregular deliveries of military equipment. Ukrainian units may face two main problems: the lack of results of the offensive and its termination, as well as fixing what was achieved in the conditions of the Russian army’s counterattacks.
And here the Ukrainian Armed Forces have only one hope – a blitzkrieg. A quick and successful offensive that would not only push the Russians back from the territories they occupied, but also save enough forces for further defense. And again, the key issue is the achievement of tactical surprise. And to ensure it, all available resources not only for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also for their conservatives from the United States were thrown away
