A hospital in the Kairouan governorate in Tunisia received, on Monday evening, the football player Nizar Al-Issawi, who suffered third-degree burns, after he poured gasoline on his body and then set it on fire, according to the Director of Health in Kairouan, Dr. Muammar Al-Hajji.

The player documented the moment he attempted suicide, through a video clip he posted on his Facebook page, and many people reported it.

During the video, a number of people tried to dissuade him from that, including a woman who appeared to be his wife, who also tried to dissuade him, but Nizar seemed determined through the video to set himself on fire, as he was very angry.

Nizar Al-Issawi (35 years old) played for a number of Tunisian teams, including Al-Ittihad Monastiri, Qawafil Gafsa, Tozeur newspaper, and Amal Hafouz.
