Lavrov announced a tour of Latin America

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov wrote about the upcoming trip to Latin America in an article for the Mexican magazine Buzos and the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo. He has a diplomat said who in the second half of April will travel to Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua.

“For us, Latin America and the Caribbean (LACC) is a valuable area of ​​foreign policy in itself. We do not want your region to turn into an arena of confrontation between powers,” Lavrov said.

As the head of the Foreign Ministry pointed out, Russia’s cooperation with Latin American countries “is based on deideologized pragmatic approaches and is not directed against anyone.” Moscow constantly advocates strengthening Russian-Latin American cooperation on the basis of mutual support, solidarity and consideration of each other’s interests, the diplomat added.

“It is in this spirit, in a spirit of strategic partnership, that our relations are developing with many countries in the region, including Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, which our delegation will visit in the second half of April,” said Lavrov. .

So we are definitely keeping an eye out for the possibility of flights to the region by our minister (Sergey Lavrov),” Shchetinin said in February.
