The head of the department of educational and social work with convicts of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Ivanovo region participated in a working meeting with representatives of the Department of Culture and Tourism.
The Department of Culture and Tourism of the Ivanovo region organized a working meeting between the first deputy director Svetlana Guseva and the head of the Department of Educational and Social Work with Convicts Natalya Dneprovskaya.
Issues of the implementation of measures aimed at preventing and suppressing the spread of religious extremism in establishments of the penitentiary system, identifying persons in places of deprivation of liberty who are carriers of extremist religious beliefs and suppressing their illegal activities, as well as persons whose activities aim to destabilize the situation in places of detention and correctional institutions.
During the meeting, they also discussed the implementation of the plan for conducting joint educational and preventive measures in penitentiary institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Ivanovo region for 2023 and holding meetings of raising awareness with the participation of theologians and other specialists aimed at explaining the essence of terrorism and its public danger.
“The goal of our joint work is to reduce radical protests among convicts of the Ivanovo region and prevent their involvement in terrorist activities,” said Natalya Dneprovskaya, head of the department for educational and social work with the condemned.
