Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

NYT: FBI arrests suspect in leak of highly classified US intelligence documents – Reuters

The arrest was made by agents of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Attorney General Merrick Garland is expected to issue a statement on the case soon, according to The New York Times. During a press conference at the Pentagon, US Department of Defense spokesman Patrick Ryder declined to answer specific questions about the leak, saying the investigation was ongoing and the matter had been referred to the Department of Justice. “This is a law enforcement matter,” General Ryder said, “it was a premeditated crime.”

Teixeira, 21, is a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard. His arrest came after the US government launched a manhunt for someone who posted classified documents on a social network popular with gamers.

Earlier, the New York Times named 21-year-old Jack Teixeira as the head of an online group where classified documents were posted. He hosted an online group where 20-30 people shared their love of guns, racist memes and video games.
