Saudi Arabia and Syria plan to restore consular services and resume flights. Appropriate measures were announced after the meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries.
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad’s visit to Saudi Arabia was the first official visit by a Syrian representative to the kingdom since the start of the conflict in the SAR in 2011.
According to the SPA agency, the Saudi Foreign Ministry invited the Miqdad to discuss a political solution to the crisis in Syria and the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland. “The parties welcome the initiation of procedures to restore consular services and flights between the two countries,” said the joint statement issued by the SPA.
These actions can contribute to strengthening the ties between Saudi Arabia and Syria and contribute to maintaining the unity of the Syrian territory.
