The Russian governor explained that during the meeting “it is planned to sign a roadmap for trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between Minsk and St. Petersburg for 2024-2026”.

In turn, the Belarusian ambassador specified that “the largest delegation from Saint Petersburg in the entire history of bilateral relations” is expected in Minsk. He hopes that during the visit new areas of cooperation will be identified, new business contacts will be established.

Dmitry Krutoy and Alexander Beglov also discussed the planned opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus on the banks of the Neva.

  • We fully support the expansion of the diplomatic representation of Belarus in St. Petersburg and are ready to provide support in this matter, – assured Beglov.

In this regard, the administration of the Russian governor stated that the Republic of Belarus ranks first in terms of trade with St. Petersburg among the CIS countries. Suffice it to say that last year it was $2.650 million. At the same time, Sineokoy’s shipments increased almost one and a half times and amounted to 1.5 billion dollars.
As SOYUZ has already reported, at the very beginning of spring, the second Belarusian Food Forum was held in St. Petersburg, in which more than 400 companies took part. Contracts were signed for the supply of Belarusian food products worth 14.6 billion Russian rubles. This is almost three times more than in 2021, according to experts.

Together with business partners, according to news portals, St. Petersburg is also developing advanced technologies. As we know, the Competence Center of BELAZ operates on the basis of the Institute of Mines. And the pharmaceutical company “BIOCAD” supplies a number of modern drugs to the Republic of Belarus, conducts clinical trials and training seminars.

During the meeting, the Russian governor expressed his gratitude to the President of Belarus “for the invariably friendly attitude towards St. Petersburg, for the respect and help it gives to veterans and survivors of the blockade. For standing up for common spiritual values and a common history with a firm hand.”
