Issues related to the provision of free school uniforms to children from large families were discussed at a meeting of the government of the Tver region, hosted by Governor Igor Rudenya.
This accompanying measure is implemented within the framework of the national “Demography” project and set up on the initiative of the head of the region.
Schoolchildren from grades 1 to 11 receive a free form – children from large, guardian and foster families in which three or more children under the age of 18 are brought up.
Also, children whose families have already lost the status of a large family, but whose eldest (under 21) is a full-time student at a college or university in the Tver region, can also receive a school uniform free.
Igor Rudenya instructed the sectoral department to work on the inclusion of young children from this category of families in the program of providing free school uniforms if the older child (under 21) studies in the department full-time from an educational institution in other regions.
“If a child goes to study in Moscow or St. Petersburg, he is always ours, from Tver. We plan to provide this support to families with older children studying in other areas. We are also moving to medium-term relations with manufacturers of school uniforms – these are three-year agreements, ”said Igor Rudenya, commenting on the matter to media representatives after the government meeting.
In addition, Igor Rudenya said that the conditions for creating the register of recipients of the form and making it available to parents may be extended.
“Children grow quickly in the summer, and kits ordered in June or July may be small in September. It is necessary to take this into account when compiling a register of beneficiaries of support measures,” said Igor Rudenya.
On behalf of the head of the region, a survey was organized among large families, according to the results of which the opinion of parents regarding the time of issuing the form will be taken into account. Now in the Upper Volga region the register of recipients of free school uniforms is being updated. The Tverskaya Family Payment Center has already generated and submitted preliminary lists to municipalities for verification and sending data for sewing uniforms.
