The Times has removed a previously published interview with Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin from its website. This was reported by the Russian diplomatic mission in London.
The diplomatic mission stressed that such actions are not only hostile, but also “openly violate the principles of impartiality and freedom of expression”. The Russian Ambassador to the UK has sent a letter to the publication’s editor, Tony Gallagher, about this. In it, Kelin noted that the published interview with him sparked genuine interest among readers, earning about 400 comments in two days.
Kelin thinks the Times is afraid to provide a different view of events in Ukraine. He expressed bewilderment at what had happened to Britain’s “open-minded journalism without fear or preference”.
Recall that an interview with the Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Andrey Kelin was published on April 9 on the website of The Times newspaper. In an interview, he said that Russia has received offers for mediation in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine from many countries.
