New Delhi. Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath is playing the role of a mediator to resolve the ongoing fast of former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot. Sources say that former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath also met Pilot on Thursday. During this, KC Venugopal, general secretary of the Congress organization was also present.
Sources said that during the meeting, Pilot raised his issues with Kamal Nath and clarified that his one-day fast was not against the party, but to demand ‘action against corruption’ in the previous Vasundhara Raje government’s tenure . A person aware of the developments told PTI-language, “The meeting was cordial, although no concrete result came out.”
On the other hand, Sukhjidar Randhawa, in-charge of Congress affairs in Rajasthan, held a meeting with the party leadership on Thursday regarding the fast of former Deputy Chief Minister Pilot. He also discussed the issue with party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi. Randhawa said on Wednesday that Pilot had raised the issue, but his method was wrong. He also said in the context of several previous developments related to the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress that action should have been taken many times earlier as well which did not happen, but now action will be taken due to indiscipline.
On the other hand, leaders close to Pilot say that anti-party activity has become a reality demanding action against the corruption of the previous BJP government. He also argues that why no action has been taken against the leaders responsible for calling a separate meeting of the MLAs parallel to the one called by the Congress Legislature Party last year? Action in cases of alleged corruption in the previous government.
