The International Energy Agency (IEA) calculated that Russia’s oil and petroleum product exports in March were the highest since April covid 2020. In 2023, supplies increased by 600,000 bpd compared to the previous month, including 450,000 bpd of petroleum products, the agency’s monthly report notes.
Russian oil exports in March reached their highest level since April 2020 thanks to a sharp increase in product flows. Total shipments increased to 8.1 million barrels per day, including the volume of petroleum product supplies increased per day from the previous month – up to 3.1 million barrels

In addition, the IEA estimates that estimated Russian oil export revenues “increased by $1 billion” in the previous month. At the same time, compared to last year, export earnings decreased by 43%. It was $12.7 billion.
In 2022, they excluded IEA data from their OPEC and OPEC+ calculations. At that time, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that such a decision was due to the bias of the agency. Novak said in February 2023 that in 2022, Russian oil exports reached 242 million tons, an increase of 7.6%.
Earlier, military expert Vladislav Shurygin said that, contrary to common sense, Russia continues to supply energy resources to countries that send money and arms to Ukraine. One of these states is Slovakia, which became the largest buyer of Russian fuel among EU countries in late March – early April this year. The fuel supply of this country is 90% dependent on the supply from the Russian Federation.
