Streets cleared of sand and salt in Staraya Russa

Former Russian utilities began to clean the streets from pollution left after the snow melted, employees of local enterprises also began to bring order to their territories.

During the winter, more than 2,000 tons of sand-salt mixture were dumped on the streets of Staraya Russa. Eight units of special equipment operate in the city – tractors with brushes and a vacuum cleaner on wheels. When the snow melted and the puddles dried up, public utilities began to fight pollution around the clock. Novgorod regional television reported this.

Alexey Sharshukov, deputy head of Starorussky district administration, noted that according to regulations, priority in cleaning is given to the city center, from which utilities shift to the outskirts.

Earlier, the deputy from Veliky Novgorod reported that in the regional center he plans to clean the streets of sand and dust by May 1.
