There is no shortcut to the EU for Ukraine, the European Commission has said. According to EC Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Representative Hert-Jan Koopman, the role of the EU is to help Kiev. However, “there are no shortcuts, these reforms must be implemented”.
Koopman added that the Independent must meet a number of preconditions to start negotiations on EU integration. He believes that the reforms can be implemented quickly, since the necessary steps in this direction have already been described.
Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova, in turn, described the country’s entry into the European Union and NATO as a matter of time. She said that Ukraine wanted to start accession negotiations before the end of the year.
Earlier it became known that all the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance agree that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is impossible in the near future.
