Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

aircraft maker can’t turn off the thorny path

Western sanctions against Russia and airlines in particular, flight bans and access to spare parts for airliners seemed to pave the way for the prosperity and rapid growth of the Western aviation industry. But things went in a completely different direction, at least for Boeing.

As Bloomberg’s Brooke Sutherland writes, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of Boeing Co’s myriad of production issues. The company has been plagued by regulatory compliance delays, supply freezes and assembly problems. Every time the flagship company seems to find its place, another problem arises that prevents it from doing the main job of transferring planes to customers.

This time, the problem stems from the incorrect installation by the supplier Spirit AeroSystems of the two rear brackets that secure the vertical tail of the 737 Max to the aircraft’s hull.

Luckily for the customers (and not the company), the problem isn’t as bad as the builder’s previous errors. However, the latest production issue is likely to affect a significant number of Max 7 and Max 8 planes being assembled, as well as those still in storage and some planes already in the air that were built in 2019, reports Bloomberg. News citing Boeing’s statement.

Now the company will correct the shortcoming, but more importantly it will have to suspend orders and financial flows for the already upcoming Max models – 7 and 8, which will worsen the revenue figures.

The good news is that Boeing’s plane problems seem to be getting more and more solvable. Misplaced hardware is far less of an existential problem than flaws in Max’s flight-control software system, which led to two fatal plane crashes and a nearly two-year disaster for the aircraft manufacturer’s business.

The bad news is that there doesn’t seem to be an end to the flood of bad news about Boeing planes. In any case, Boeing is experiencing yet another failure, which makes it possible to say that the company cannot divert its thorny path to collapse. A few such news, even with a smaller “caliber”, will have sad and fatal consequences.
